my question to the military guys here would be who gets to try him? It occured on a military base and I'm assuming he's in custody at one of their hospitals. The best bet would be a military court, they'll actually shoot his ass afterwards.

I'm fucking flabbergasted the guy is alive. The guys who finally pinned his ass down must have had the compassion of a six-pack of Jesus Gandhis to not put two in his goddamn face. Fucking mad kudos to whoever they are for keeping it lawful.

I disagree. It always pains me a little to hear that a mass shooter took his own life at the scene. This guy should be held accountable, feel the pain of his wounds (hopefully they are painful), and stand before the man. Guys who do shit like this and then put one in their own temple get off too goddamn easy--they get what they wanted, and they get what they planned. Fuck that.

Yeah they do have the death penalty but like Shahram posts, not since '61. Lots of violent acts soldier v soldier that warrant it, but has not been handed down in 40+ years.

They won't fry him. He is muslim. To fry him would bring on the wrath of other muslims and followers of islam. It is against islamic law for an infidel to met out justice to a muslim. In fact according to islamic law he has done nothing wrong if all those killed are infidels. Political correctness will stop short of capital punishment.

Well, he did get free Med School, residency and a fellowship out of it.

Not only was it free but he was on active duty the entire time. It was a PLUM setup. Seriously, very competitive.

I just can't stand it. I have no sympathy for this guy. Granted, there is no proof yet that it was anything more than a lone act of violence, I am just calling it like I see it. I think there is a lot more to this story than we know from all the misinformation we are getting.

I think there is a Muslim angle. Sorry if that makes me a racist, but I think it is there and will come out clearly in time.

Good point. But my point is that the same reason that the govt and media refuse to call honor killings what they are, will prevent the death penalty. But again you may be right as this is the military.

I made it clear it is too soon to come to the determination that it isn't terrorism. The base was still on lockdown. Any investigation would be in the preliminary stages. Hell, the bodies were still lukewarm.
