Thanks for having so much authority on the subject, all you bandwagoning experts.
Georgia running back Washaun Ealey says Florida linebacker Brandon Spikes shouldn't be suspended - ESPN
I'd say the punishment is Urban's judgment and his alone, and Brandon will have to deal with the implications of his actions on his own career independently. He accepted responsibility for his actions and apologized, but the general sentiment from both sides of the teams affected seems to be that it was an emotionally charged game and emotions make people do stupid things. I think it was a dumb and shameful thing for Spikes to do, and I'm glad he's suspended, but the claims of the OP are baseless.

that eye gouging is awesome. come on. shameful? classless? maybe the league should change to touch football and the players can tag each other on the asses or nuts so millhouse can enjoy the game.

He should have been suspended for one whole game. Not for the eye gouging. For being caught eye gouging. Never get caught, dude.

IM hoping some kiwis will post something about the stuff that goes on with rugby. The eye gouging is real bad, but some of the stuff that happens in rugby, gives a whole different meaning to dirty.
great video clip by the way.

I just read up on Brandon Spikes, I guess I don't follow college football, but WHY THE HELL DO YOU HAVE TO BLOW UP THE THREAD WITH HUGE A** FONTS? Is that really necessary to make your point?

The sanctioning bodies have turned football into pussyball. No helmet to helmet, etc, etc, etc. Players nowadays are effectively hamstrung by the rules. Football died with players like Butkus, Lambert, Hamm, Bradshaw, Ditka, etc, IMO. Toughest players in recent history, IMO, were Bill Bates, Bill Romanowski, LT, Derrick, and players like them.
Football used to be a hitting sport, now it's a contact sport, like dancing.

Take your earrings off and step on the field with some of the best. The hits I see today are far more vicious than the ones from the past. Players are bigger, stronger, and faster, and it shows.

Sure thing, sis. The earrings came out when the helmet went on.
BTW, how were the half-time shows? I never got to see one.....
