It's actually really easy, I think less of a PITA than filling through the tiny dipstick hole. Disconnect the hoses at the cooler and let the tranny pump out of your ATF source and into a bucket. Keep pumping until it's clear.

The threads I read didn't mention sucking the new fluid from a bucket, they were still filling through the dipstick. 
I'll probably still do it the way I did today. It takes more time, but I don't have the resources here and don't want to buy buckets, hose, etc.

The pump in the tranny just recirculates the fluid, to move it up to the cooler and back. So if you disconnect both cooler hoses it will suck on one side and blow on the other.
This is how I flushed my FJ62 tranny. Was super easy.
Definitely easier to do at home. Maybe worth waiting until then anyway, give your new fluid you just put in more time to clean things out in there.

Cool. I will do it when I get home after the new year. 
I'll probably just do the other two drain/fills anyways in the mean time. I don't think it had been changed for a very long time. Can't hurt.
