i can't quote since it's been erased, something like your friend let on to the cops that he was going "sixtyish", as opposed to "eightyfiveish". and you lied by omission, you had an obligation to come forth and tell the truth.

yes however the cops deemed he was going faster than what he said due to the length of the skid marks.

look guys, i put this on here because I wanted to share a bad experience with you that I had and it happened to involved a land rover.

Okay so I gather a friend was DUI..Or was that you? Anyway, he was driving like a tard, wrecks that POS Rover into a tree. You being the buzzed hero pull him from the wreckage and save the day...Even though he could have one of a number of injuries that your actions could have exacerbated.

And you dont expect Chat to be a tough crowd?

For one, the way I drive has toned down a lot. I was afraid to drive for a week after that night. I obey the speed limit and drive more defensively.

Furthermore, I have always been one that hates stupidity. I absolutely hate it from drunken stupidity to stupidity on the road and this is a clear example of stupidity that was exceedingly lucky for the driver and other drivers on the road.

Finally, not to lie to the cops. Although I had no interactions with them that night I know that what was said was not what I would have said.

Lastly, as someone pointed out I should not have moved the driver. Although he crawled out as soon as I opened the door I should have waited for Dr's as I'm a Mech E.

Look man, I am sorry for what I said to you. Looking back on that night I still get chills down my back and hope to god that I never have to see/experience anything like that ever again.

I presumed that a group of guys that likes cars such as those on Mud would be interested in reading a story that I experienced.I guess my assumption of what your interpretations were going to be were wrong; however, they are right.

I could have done more that night to prevent it from even happening. I guess I had the "cant happen to me" syndrome.

About 3 months ago, Highway Patrol tried to pull over a drunk driver about 3 am. The driver sped off, with the Tooper in pursuit, the driver exited off the highway and onto a city arterial, Trooper terminated the chase at that point, shortly after she hit another car broadside, killing the 3 in the other car and herself and seriously injuring her passenger. Local media was all over it. Everybody that had been with her during the evening and early morning hours, including the passenger, swore up and down, she had not had anything to drink. She was the designated driver. Her BAT showed an alcohol level about 3 times the legal limit.

A guy that had NO alcohol in his system killed my Brother in Law and Nephew and critically injured 3 other nephews in an accident, it was just illegal drugs.
One nephew, only 14 now, 8 at the time, has seizures and a learning disability that will stay with him the rest of his life. But the driver that did all this had no alcohol in his system. The driver got 5 years, he should have got 20 to life.

No alcohol your buddies system, maybe, clean BAT, doubt it.
