I ride my bike nearly exclusively on the sidewalk, despite it being illegal. I do so because I do not trust the vehicle drivers and fuck the pedestrians. As an aside, spandex is appropriate for thin women and professional athletes only. Special permits should be required for all others.

Not by 1980's standards. People drive too god damned fast in their overpowered cars these days. That will change, I hope.

We've decided that our extreme sport of the summer will be "thong mowing" this year.
I only wish my ass was hairier.

The first and only time I ever saw a Stupid Car was when the oblivious female driver pulled out directly in front of me while I was traveling about 45mph. I had to stand on the brakes to avoid a collision. Being the oblivious individual that she was, she either ignored my screeching tires and beeping horn or just plain didn't see/hear me. Must be a rollcage mentality. Perhaps the car is only a conspiracy to rid us of oblivious/inconsiderate drivers.

a cyclist who rides on the sidewalk deserves to be knocked off their bike by a baseball bat...

I walk nearly exclusively on the sidewalk or shoulder. I do so because I do not trust drivers and I carry a broomstick to stick in wheels for the freakin' self righteous bikers that try to run over me.
Seriously though - I have 'oblivions.' I forget where I picked that term up from - I think it was from Neil Boortz. These are people who don't pay attention. They don't realize 4 tons of steel are about to crush their little commuter car b/c they pulled out in front of you.

I was gonna give these things the benefit of the doubt, but I was behind some idiot blocking the left lane with one this morning.

GM that was low hanging fruit. Try something a little more derogatory next time. You'll feel better about yourself.

Seen that one before...I thought it had a Suzuki engine in there.
I do not know why I would do it, but it turned out to be pretty wild

Size matters when you're crashing into another vehicle. If you held a gun to my head and told me I've got to be in a crash with another car, I'll choose the larger vehicle. But if you hold the gun to my head and tell me I've got to be in a crash with a brick wall, I'd probably think more in terms of sound engineering rather than "bigger is better."

Actually, they probably wouldn't have survived.

Because your time is sooooo important?
I ride the same as the bikers above, it is still dangerous though because 99% of drivers are retards who think they own the road

Yep, a quote I've read on mud before and agree with: "No car has been underpowered since 1945"
People just drive too fast

Missed the thread first time around. Love the video at the beginning where the voice over drips with enthusiasm at how well the Smart is holding up in the slow mo crash against a mid size Mercedes. Yes looks great - especially the part where the sedan's headlamps are in the Smart car driver's lap and the crash still hasn't ended. Geez, what a marketing snowjob. The remainder of the video and the part with the remote crashes still doesn't get honest and talk about real world crashworthiness where the average vehicle on the road you'll be hitting/getting hit by weighs nearly twice what your Smart does. The video seems like they are legally concerned about saying the truth. Pointless, you might say.

those smart cars still freak me out , park is reverse . the first time you see one idling with no one in it and reverse lights on you start to get a little nervous.
