Time magazine's "man of the year" for 1938. | Tell me again how hyper-inflation relates to the current status of the economy?

| the OP seemed to be drawing a comparison to today's economic situation and that of the great depression. hitler was a product of the great depression, and the treaty of versailles. hyperinflation is hapenning in other countries, no?

| In a sluggish economy
Inflation,recession
Hits the land of the free
Standing in unemployment lines
Blame the government for hard time
We just get by
However we can
We all gotta duck
When the shit hits the fan
10 kids in a cadillac
Stand in lines for welfare checks
Let's all leach off the state
Gee!the money's really great!
Soup lines
Free loaves of bread
5lb blocks of cheese
Bags of groceries
Social security
Has run out on you and me
We do whatever we can
Gotta duck when the shit hits the fan |

| what do y'all make of this quote..? bluenote says: February 27th, 2009 at 10:21 pm As Ron Paul said, Austrian school economists saw this coming years ago. I was able to tell people that when Joe America could not pay his adjusted rate mortgage, credit derivatives would explode and the financial web around the planet would collapse. Upon hearing this, people laughed in my face. It is cold comfort indeed they are not laughing now. The point is that as clearly as this could be seen, the methods for avoiding it could also be seen. It is nonsense for anyone to suggest that Bernanke, Paulson, Volker, Summers et al are making “mistakes” or are “trying to save” the economy. These people KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE DOING. Then KNOW you cannot create tens of trillions of dollars out of thin air without creating hyperinflation and destroying the dollar. This is intentional. Those in a position to stop this did nothing of the kind because they were the ones initiating the entire process. It took them thirty years to set up this robbery and, so far, they are getting away with it. This is a repeat performance of the financial elite manipulations prior to 1929 but the economically illiterate public did not understand it then and they don’t understand it now. This is the greatest transfer of wealth in history; the biggest heist ever conceived and this time they have wiped the floor with the entire world. No wonder these people are so arrogant! By the time they are finished they will own or be owed for virtually every hard asset in the country. |

| Ok, it makes me pissed, just like many other similar articles pointing out how people in charge were making huge money on this situation and certainly saw where it was headed. They screwed me, my kids, and my grandkids, so they and their kids and grandkids would live in wealth and luxury. Welcome to Midieval America. Things could get brutally violent if this goes even as bad as the great depression, we're a very different people this time around. I've heard it could make the great depression look like a recession.
