so, the options as I see them right now:
1) buy/use another machine just for the grant submission process - keep office computer as is. This will get me by for now, but sooner or later, I will still have to consider 2) or 3)
2) upgrade office computer OS and software - lose MacMail and our favorite DNA analysis program
3) keep office computer as is, retire it to run the specialty applications - buy a whole new office computer, or a laptop, or an AirBook (or all of them )

|
Option 3 is the wise path, IMHO. You get to keep your specialy apps running on a box that is set up to your liking. AND, you get a brand new machine that will be up to specs and which you can set up with the more modern OS and gubmint-pleasing stuffs. And let's face it--you'll tweak the new computer so that it'll be just how you want it anyway, right? Win/Win.

I think I've seen pictures of it, somewhere on Mud before, not the one you rented but in some thread.
pretty sure it's nothing like the Ford Falcon my dad bought new in like 67 or 68 and drove for 13 years. The floorboards in the front were riveted sheet metal
Minnesota is rough on cars, especially Fords.

Okay, the Blackjack thread is going to get interesting. But it will end much quicker than the conveyor belt thread, because it is easy to verify through direct observation.

Estimated 80% first gen efficiency, and the freaking tiny little sheet acts as a heatsink that simply returns electricity? That's like the biggest godsend ever. You'd be better off just wrapping a hybrid's exhaust in this stuff than using an alternator to charge the batteries

And painting the whole fucking car with it. People in Phoenix would never have to recharge, just park it in the sun all day.

Morning yoga complete. There is something wrong with doing yoga in a 100 degree room and then walking out to the car soaking wet when it is only 35 degrees outside.
