there is no way i will heat the entire garage.

i have tried to understand infrared lighting in paint booths. i am still confused how they do it. i can't find explosion proof infrared lights. I am thinking you have to set them up on the exterior of the booth and use glass windows.

i really really really just want to find a small cheap explosion proof radiant space heater i could put inside the booth. the only thing close i can find are bilge heaters. i would just use oil filled radiators if i was totally certain they were spark proof.

Even the electric bulbs would be no go?

Besides, how bad of an explosion would there be?

i dunno. they have small infrared paint dryer lamps in europe but i can't find them for sale here. their major weakness is they only work in line of sight but they will cure paint in minutes.

I have a couple of 110v 1/2 hp electric motors in my shed. You can have one if you could use it in your fan setup.

It's usually the switches that cause the hazard. Or crappy contacts...

Alas, mercury switches, the most explosion-proof ones possible, are no longer legal.

Quartz Overhead Radiant Heater - Lee Valley Tools

ag supply places would likely have the regular infrared lamps (brooder lamps, I think they are known as)

now it shows "these products are no longer available"

oh well, maybe google the manufacturer
