Have you wrung them out accuracy wise? Sounds like the 18" one works fine.
I was concerned that 6.5 Swede might be one of those calibers that requires a long barrel for good performance. Some of the old school calibers are that way, others not so much. I haven't been able to find an opinion though. I thought about writing one of the gub magazine ballistics column writers...

There is talk of a Big Bend trip in the spring. Brett Naquin is out there now. A non-cruiser guy trip
Word on the steet is that the BC is drifting back into the mists of legend. Allegedly.

Or an HK91.
I almost commented on your short sleeve uniform shirt, thinking it was not appropriate as a winter uniform.
Bear in mind I just spent nearly an hour outside at 14°F.

I've done a good bit of shooting with the longer one and have no concerns about it. I've only put about 20 rounds through the shorter one and I need to do a serious bench session with it. I'll advise when I do. One thing I'm disappointed in is that my favorite load is no longer available. The Federal Premium line used to include a 140gr loading with the Nosler Partition bullet. That was a game-getter par exellence. I've got some of that battle pack ammo now, so that's what I'll use to check it out.

In the two years I've worked out here in BFE, I've worn my long sleeve uniform shirt exactly two times. And both of those were for trial testimony.

of all the weapons I own or have access to, if I had to take the shot of a lifetime to save my life or the life of another--right now, right NOW--my scoped Swede would be the choice. Without a doubt.
