I'd assume that would be one of the western Humbolt counties. The one in IA has a good well distributed rural population.
THE Humboldt County!

Virtual inanity would be you guyz losing the Gator - Tide game today... I don't think it is going to be a huge win but I guess if you beat them by even one point it will be.
Good Luck.
Wishful thinking, but they're not the underdog everyone is making them out to be. That's just working to their advantage and everyone knows it but nobody wants to say it.
I'll be ecstatic if we win.

I keep trying to tell him about the wimmens aspect of being a guitar player, but he doesn't seem to think that is a good thing (he's 5)

A friend's son, Ian, has figured out the girl angle quite well. His dad, Eric Coleman, is a folk singer songwriter here in central IA. When various bands would come through town some would stop at their place. A few years back Ian has finally gotten the nerve to jam with them and about an hour into the jam a couple of the visitors start to just listen and dad takes the queue and lets Ian play by himself. About 15 minutes later Ian finally figures out he's the only one playing and goes "What?". The kid is phenomenal. He just seams to gork music and is able to quickly pick up any instrument and play it well.

I agree that Bama is not a double digit underdog in this meeting of #1 and #2 in the BCS rankings. I think this is going to be a tight game.
...that reminds me, I need to see about making crepes one of these days now that it's cooler out. Or better yet, get the mrs. to make them while I'm out playing at lumberjack.
they're good on bagels too, or Norwegian pancakes.
the region of Norway I was in, I didn't see anyone eating Lingonberry's though. Probably because there were fresh blueberrys, raspberrys, bjornebaer, and cloudberry's available.
mmmmm, fresh blueberrys. It seemed like all the berries were moister and better over there. They probably were, since it's pretty moist.

Logan played guitar at his school tonight for around 150 people.
He didn't get nervous at all. Made very few mistakes.
He got a huge applause after every song, I thought I was going to lose it a few times, I was so proud.
After he was all done, we packaged up his guitar/amp and went back to where Michelle was and a cute little girl came up to him, put her hand on his shoulder and said "cool".
he's already got groupies

Ski racing clinic was canceled on account of too much snow.
Not really. It was called for severe weather. It's only Brrrrr, not too bad, but we're having a white out blizzard so visibility is nearly zero and there are 30 mph winds blowing straight up the ski hill. Not good conditions for the first day of practice for kids down to age 7.
The cancellation was at the last minute so we were on the hill when we found out. We skied 4 runs and called it quits because it was painful skiing. We are getting a fucking sweet dump of nice snow though so we're pretty happy.
I took some pics. It was so windy that it blew the snow coming out of the snowmaking gun backwards with the gusts.
FRS though (First Run of the Season)! woot!

No pics. We brought the camera and I was supposed to take some but I was busy helping him change music on his music stand and changing the settings of the amp between songs. Michelle took video and it came out somewhat blurry. If I can figure out how to load it, I'll post it.
He wanted a couple songs have more rock & roll sound so I had to man the amp. Jingle bells had a similar sound to this.

Must have been Cub as I'd be surprised if Byerlys would have dropped Lingonberry preserves. They have a whole selection of them in their stores. Cub is a cut throat grocery retailer known for having well stocked but pedestrian stores. Byerlys is a very upscale Twin Cities only grocers where you can find interesting stuff like Alaskan King Crab and truly good caviar. When I was still eating wheat I'd get their store made breads that were made with all organic ingredients but most importantly were made with good traditional recipies using stuff like real butter and honey instead of sugar. The baker lady told me they used organic ingredients because they sold 5X to 10X the volume when they did and it really didn't cost much more. I convinced the baker lady to make a traditional beer batter rye bread which they then couldn't keep on the shelves. Their first batch of 40 loaves was gone by 8am. They made it with rye flour only, no wheat flour filler. The stuff was wonderful and it only cost $3.50 for a 1.5lbs loaf. Not much more than a 1lbs loaf of commercial rye bread. I had to call in and reserve loaves to get them.
Ooh, I see Byerlys and Lunds are now one.
I've been to most of the chains in the cities, I just don't remmber which is which.
other than that Cub sucks. my parents have one in their town. when I was home last summer they bought some "fresh" salmon at cub, when I opened the package I about puked. At least they refunded it.
