Yeah, basically, it's larceny. If you get caught and they decide to press charges.

If you're caught, most of the time, they'll just take the crates back, and have the cops serve you with a trespass notice, and post your picture up at the front desk with a note to call to the cops if they see you on the premises.

Those things used to be good -- when there were like three of them.
My dad's favorite place was this one from Montreal. They opened a place in FL where he lived. THe original place is in MTL, the only other one in the world was in Florida.... We used to eat at the original in MTL when we lived there. When he saw a place with the same name in Florida, he thought it was someone ripping them off. So he went in and found it it was the owners of the original. They just thought it would be a good idea to have one in FL for some reason.

Black Angus has good flavor, IMO.
Lot of the flavor might have to do with age though too, the best tasting steaks are the ones that are a couple days from being bad

The market up the street sells the filet ends that are too small to mignon, they're like a tiny tri-tip:
NOMl
I asked another place what they do with theirs: hamburger.

Wouldn't that be fucking hilarious?
Milk crates are pricy -- I think the deposit is like $10 each. But the really expensive ones are the totes: basically this huge hard plastic trunk with a hinged lid on the door. Those fuckers are expensive, bout would make an awesome gear box for the back of a cruiser. Kinda like one of those action packer things, but way, way stronger, and with recessed tops so they can be stacked.
I had to write software to track crate and totes deposits -- glass bottle deposits, too. There's a lot of oney tied up in those things. Totes were to be guarded with your life. If a crate had breakage and got milk on it, you could put it outside so it didn't stink the place up, but leaving a tote outside would get someone written up.

OIC. I thought you were talking about Ruth Chris. One or two locations and the quality is good. Seems that as locations are added the quality goes down.

I think there is a different taste for steak here. The places I have been to that were supposed to be good were on par with an outback.
