i made friends with a crappy tire worker today i was looking at their house brand paint gun trying to figure out if it was really hvlp (it said "High volume low pressure" on the box but it was siphon feed. anyway, he asked me what i recommended because he'd been meaning to get one because he restores old motorcycles. So I'm like "what kind" and he's like oh old japanese ones. so I say "what kind". and he says "well mostly hondas" so we compare notes. he has 6 old early 70s hondas ranging from a 750 to 175. he has been paying a guy to do the frames and tanks and was really interested about the quote i had just gotten from the sandblasting place. also it turns out there is a guy a couple of towns up with over 50 old hondas in his yard.

by the way, took one disassembled bike to the sandblast shop. price to sandblast and prime 5 sparkplugs = between $300-450. I was all set to buy a sandblast cabinet, but now I am thinking maybe not.

There is a city council meeting next Tuesday. The City Secretary and the Mayor both commented (separately) that there is the City's Holiday party that night right after the meeting and both of them mentioned en passant that it would be nice if my wife could be there. Something is afoot.

$60-90 to blast a whole sprakplug is worth it. Blasting is a fucking bitch of a job.

We barely have time to keep up with all the snow, and now that's it's been like 0 degrees the last couple days, our sidewalks and driveway are covered in ice.

With a snowblower, we could clear the driveway and walkway in seconds!
