A good side wind would compress that side of the bubble and possibly get you into the air stream. Also any gustyness required more steering inputs.
Cold has always sapped energy from me. It may be that I grew up on water warmed Long Island where winters were never really all that cold, just damp. The thing is with a good set of winter riding leathers you are nice and warm.

the traditional way to have salt on bread is like this:
spread onion-bit containing pork lard onto rye bread and sprinkle salt over it
their bread looks though

The bike has heated hand grips--two settings. It has the standard plug for heated garments; however, I has none. It turns out, I didn't need heated garments either (the garments), as my gear and the hand grip heat were sufficient.

I'm sure I need to go to Germany to experience that correctly.

Exactly. I have some pretty good gear. If I did anything, it would be a heated vest and some more winterweight gloves. The Helds I have are full gauntlet and primo but they could have been a bit warmer for my tastes.

pork lard = Schmalz
considered highly nutritious in lean times and a poor people's staple; my mother grew up with it during and after the war
fallen pretty much out of fashion as a bread topping
except in beer halls and corner pubs
Schmalzbrot goes really well with a strong dark beer

They originally tried 4 but it wouldn't fit properly so they added two more.
A couple years after that I oopsed and jabbed myself with a knife good while opening a box. I was in a town without a medical center, just EMTs at the firehouse, so I dribbled hydrogen peroxide over it for 15 minutes and then dried it off with toilet paper and quickly taped it shut with duct tape. In the morning I raided the local pharmacy, it was part of the IGA grocery store, and got the rest of the supplies to fix myself up. Without sutures I got an inch long by 3/8" deep cut in my hand to match up and heal shut nicely. Also I didn't get any infection. I was religious about keeping it dry and cleaning it with hydrogen peroxide till it felt like it was covering over properly. That only took 4-5 days. I wrapped a band of bandage tape around my hand to keep me from spreading my thumb out. That kept the skin from being stretched across the cut. You can still see about 1/2" of the cut. The rest healed without a scar.

When everyone in power is from the 1970s, we're going to relive the 1970s.
