positive. the great serpent mound.
it was pretty amazing considering when it was built and the tools used.
I had seen burial mounds in Northern Minnesota and thought they were kind of cool for their time, but all they are is a big pile of dirt compared to this

for sure more research is required.
I enjoyed the Virago much more than the Nissan, that BMW looks and sounds like much fun.

I agree--especially when on a bike. If I'm towing or in a rush though, I want interstate, baby--superslab all teh way. I'll say this--I can't wait to get a GPS unit.

I know that while riding a bike, your range is cut immensely, so I want total familiarity with my route. That was one of the reasons I headed straight for Joplin and the rest . . . I know the rest of that route like the back of my hand. The GS has a tank that is just over 5 gallons and the ST's is about 7.4 gallons. The truth is that with the GS, you HAVE to be thinking of gas every 150-160 miles. With the ST, you could easily handle 230-240 miles and never be pushing into reserve.

Anyway, the requisite beer having been consumed, and my TUT buds having been informed of the Mission Accomplished, I think it's time to hit the hay.

I kept my Lowrance X58DF sounder when I sold my tinny. (did I mention I sold my tinny?) I will be able to mount it and my Garmin 60CSx to the yak when it turns up.
I also want to fit an anchor trolley, paddle keeper, paddle & rod lanyards, gear crate and rod holders.
Other projects for it are a rudder, kayak trolley, and maybe a sail.

I originally wanted a Hobie kayak with the mirage pedal drive but after looking into it a bit more I realised it won't suit my needs. The mirage drive needs quite a fair depth to operate properly and most of the areas I fish in are quite shallow.
The Kingfisher has large waterproof storage hatches which are good for storing camping gear too. There is well behind the seat that is just the right size for a crate or an esky.
After weighing it all up I reckoned I'd save myself a heap of dollars and go for the cheaper Aussie made Kingfisher.

All of the reviews I have read on the Kingfishers have been positive.
I haven't taken one for a test paddle so hopefully they will be OK.

What was billed is not what will be paid/collected. Not even close. There are lots of reasons for the amount charged being so much higher than what is actually collected.
But yeah it's fucked up.
