Thanks for mentioning it. I'm just not convinced I get much by using a M101 as a base to start from. I really want the dump option which means serious fab work either way.

I think I think I think I may be able to make the trailer 4x8 flat bottom. I may need to add spacers if I use the Datsun axle. But if I run a trailer axle from someplace like Redneck Trailer Supply, it would easily work.

Sweet, thanks. Now that I have the lower, I plan on looking for everything else online... I'll look for that.
I'm thinking of getting the Rock River flat-top carbine upper, too. I just don't know how unobtainium those are right now. Depends on how much stuff the DEA and FBI are breaking.

Across the country from you, but I've had great luck buying from this guy. He's the guy that went out on a limb by selling lowers after the State Supreme Court ruled on a couple cases that made it possible. I think he's a high school history teacher by day and is a partner in this shop.

0.125" thick tread plate or plain plate aluminum. Lighter and more durable than stainless steel. Only pain is it is harder to weld than stainless steel. Stainless steel can be a real pain to weld properly due to needing to select the weld wire carefully based on welder power setting and the type of stainless being welded. Stainless steel weld wire is a different composition than the stainless it is formulated to weld. When welded properly the weld bead is closely matched to the welded stainless. The trick is when hot the balance of metals in stainless steel shifts due to evaporation and that shift needs to be accounted for in the weld wire. The weld wire provides an excess of the more volatile components to make up for their loss in both the weld wire and surrounding metal in the joint. PS: I'd glue then pop rivet stainless steel or AL to the frame if it was my trailer.

No phone or internet orders.
I did look over the page though. Fuck, I'm glad I don't live in that state. Dude, anytime you and your fam want to come to Wisconsin and declare yourselves refugees from the State of CA, I've got a whole fucking house I'll rent to you till you get on your feet and stuff.
I'd leave tonight if I were you.
