Nor am I using it, other than I have a keen eye for the pseudoscience that so many doctors get fooled with.

It takes an MD about 7 years on average to catch up to a JD in total earned income because of so many years of no or really crappy income while in training...if you compare to someone who goes to business school and starts making a lot of money right away as an investment banker or something, we never catch up.

I just plunked down $100 for a set of SAE sizes that only went up to 1/2". I need to spend another $100 for a metric set. Then I need to spend another few hundred on some pipe threading dies. I at least have a 3" pipe threading handle from my grandpa. No dies for it, but...
I really wish I hadn't gotten rid of all the stuff Syndi, Megan and Jim left behind. I purged the house somewhere around 2.5 to 3 years after they were killed. I couldn't stand to look at it anymore or even use it for long even though I couldn't remember what we had as a relationship. What I really needed to do was move to a different house. It was the lost togetherness we had in that house that was tearing me apart. Not the stuff. What little that missed the purge actually brings quite good comfort when I use it.

The next day after school I bought her a sharpening stone and taught her how to sharpen the scissors. Every time I see that old pair of scissors I remember the good times we had together making this or that costume or dress. It was less than three months before I gave her a set of new ones. I had bought them the same time I got the sharpening stone.

Indeed. The allopathic approach has many problems but is still the best choice...the smart doctors can see around the bad stuff...unfortunately you never know if your doc is the one that barely passed medical school...

but a jd spends a lot of that first 7 years of income foolishly, while you are living frugally. and you both work like dogs and have no leaisure time to enjoy. so really what you miss out on is 7 years of ordering whatever you want in restaurants.

funny story during review of a grant application which I was also a reviewer on (for the molecular part):
a neurosurgeon proposes to do molecular studies on epilepsy and wants to compare the lesioned area of the brain (bad parts to be cut out during surgery) to normal brain tissue from the same patient; idea is to find possible misregulated molecules that could be the target for drug therapy
all the while they are discussing the scientific aspects of it (which I found sound and had merit), I am still going WTF? to myself, WTF? they are taking more brain out of the poeple than absolutely necessary so finally I ask the question whether anybody finds this ethically problematic
and all the neurosurgeons on the panel break into hysterical laughter
which, of course, confused me even more turns out that you almost cannot avoid taking out normal brain tissue during surgery for epilepsy, to get to the lesions, you have to cut normal tissue - it was so totally normal to them, they never even pointed that out in the proposal
