how does the image transloader work?

it's a firefox extension that nater made, once it is installed you just right click, and in the dropdown "transload to image shack" will be an option, click that, it transloads it and copies the link to your clipboard

I'm going to write a page in a sec and put it on my domain to make it easier until it's out of the Mozilla sandbox (if it ever makes it out). Anyways, it's pretty simple. When you right click on an image, you'll see "Transload to ImageShack..." just click that and watch in your status bar and it will show you imageshack's progress. Once it says it's good to go, you simply paste the image URL where you need it. (Usually wrapped in [img][/img] tags inside a post)

Enjoy, now you have no excuse for getting caught hotlinking, because now it's equally easy to transload

Oh, I've only tested it against my Firefox (3.0.3) so if you are using another version (especially 2.0.0.*) let me know if it works; if not I'll patch accordingly.

No, there's still the link in the name. It just adds a little more to it


It's a good deal. When you hotlink, the person who "own's" the picture can change the image on you. Woody said he will ban if a hotlinked picture gets changed to nudity, even though you don't have any control over it. It's kind of like playing russian roulette. The transloading takes all the risk out of it.
