Mission accomplished. It was more expensive to ship via air mail to Canada than via Priority to Kalifornia and it will take 5 times longer to get there.
On the way back I saw a small Pontiac sedan with a dead deer strapped to the roof. Just a little doe. It would have probably fit in the trunk.
Deer season doesn't start for 12 days.

The shop just called. Diagnosis:
- TPS
- Kickdown cable out of adjusment
- Master cylinder shot
- Rear brakes out of adjustment
Pretty much not too bad.
I'm just having them do the TPS and kickdown cable for now.
I'll order brake stuff from Dan and come back for the rest.

the tying of exposed dead deers to automobiles is a social crime here. at hunting school they said it was the same as not picking up your cartridges.

Indeed. Our market values is a multiple of our appraisal. It's an arbitrary scale.

btw, Cube:
I found this site, that sells Jarts, but not sure you'll like the price
you might want to make a reasonable offer to the offer in your thread.

I would have posted it in your thread, but I didn't want to hurt your price on offers in there.

Not bad at all.
Most shifting problems on FJ62's are due to the kickdown cable stretching over time. For the future, you can adjust it yourself really easily with two 14mm wrenches. Don't use the FSM setting because the cable has stretched and needs to be tighter than what the FSM says. You might need to tweak it yourself.
It's got to be a pretty good shop to pick that up, most would tell you the nonexistent TCM was shot and needed replacing or that your tranny needs to be rebuilt.
The rear brakes adjust automatically every time you use the parking brake. If you're not using it regularly you should try to change that and get in the habit of setting it every time you park. The linkage of the parking brake right at the rear wheels gets corroded and binds up over time if you don't use it. In my climate it gets rusty and binds up anyway.
The master cylinder can be rebuilt, a mom and pop brake shop can do that for you. Much less $$ than new OEM usually.
