There's no - in the name. Just K2.

The surprise isn't that people died there - but that so many died as the result of one avalanche there taking out the bottleneck ropes. Usually when there is a large number, like in 86, it's due to storms stranding them for days. The weather on K2 can be so much more severe than on Everest.

While Everest is taller, K2 makes Everest look almost like a walk in the park.
