I didn't find any pull-down menu that referred to anything close to "remove field codes"

What's the best course of action? I'm thinking: buy a three-way switch, replace switch A; if that doesn't work, swap the removed switch to switch B; if that doesn't work, check wiring to fixture. And if that doesn't work, call electrician.
|
Something much easier (IMHO) is to test at the light with a meter. Take the light down, power up the system and check for current/volts at the wires hitting the light. If that fails, then start looking at the switches.
Either way good luck.

To answer one of your earlier questions, yes there is some useful stuff in the last 400 posts of #33.

Tools>EndNote>Remove Field Codes
This turns the document back into a regular document and all the citations now behave like regular text.
Good Luck

I have Word 11.5.0, there is no "Tools>EndNote>Remove Field Codes"

I thought I was using an old version (office 2000).
Another option is to do what I said earlier and then on your copy with the formated biblio, save as a RTF. I think that works.
Otherwise enter the 21st century and update your Word.

This version is 2004 for the Mac, it was purchased last fall. I think you have the older version. So tell me again, where is this fucking EndNote command that is neither in my home version of Word not my office version, both of which are recent?

Maybe you have EndNote, which appears on your toolbar/menu?
EndNote | Support & Services
Maybe you and Claudia both go to the University of Wollongongongognonago?
http://www.library.uow.edu.au/resour...UOW030482.html
It's not a typical Word command function.
Typical. A couple a snooty academics get all high and mighty, condescending to the people who ask them for assistance. Maybe cruiser88 is right. . . . .
