I think that they'd be great for around town, not sure that I would want to take one on large highways all the time

so, the dinner with the fat womanfriend was a success; the food was excellent
actually, I think she lost some weight her face sure doesn't look as plump anymore
this may be due to all the heartbreak she experienced over the past year, long stories of which she filled the evening with...
I gave her an excerpt from typical MUD advice for relationship troubles, only sex reversed: "dump him, screw his best friend and then dump him, too" - she was so intrigued, she coulddn't even think of rolling an eye

they go fast enough for North American highways
for the Autobahn, not so much
they top out pretty much at 130 kph the diesel is even slower
really, in Germany you want a car to comfortably do at least 160 kph on the Autobahn
[that's like 80 mph and 100 mph, respectively, for you non-metric fuckers - I should mention that all cars are limited by the factory to cut out at about 250 kph = 155 mph, except the Cayenne - for some reason, they got an exception on that one ]

is it really that difficult to understand that the chance meeting the right mate for a long-term relationship is not 1:1 but more like 1:10 or so, and that therefore, you have to up the numbers in the trials to have a decent chance of finding him

I sure got enough talk about relationships this evening to last me a long time
if I didn't know better before, I now would be totally convinced that yoga instructors, cooking teachers or meditation gurus are not good candidates one of my womanfriends in Germany trolled the dancers and choreographers for a while with equally dismal success
is there a gene activated in single people to make them consistently look in the wrong place ?

I'm a kph guy
not so much the highway speed, mostly just the transport truck interaction would be my concern with highway use, they seem pretty light, and not terribly big for visibility

after relating the accumulated MUD wisdom on relationships to my womanfriend, she said "maybe I should hang out at that forum, they seem to have such a completely different perspective"

sometimes it is just a matter of looking too hard, trying too hard to impress, etc.
if you are always trying to impress someone, it can be done, but if you aren't being yourself, and don't get to relax around the potential mate, it's doomed to fail

really, I feel kinda sad for her:
she sees screwed-up people and relationships and kids in that mix all the time in her practice as a clinical psychologist - and now her personal life tends to replicate the pattern
yeah, she needs to drive a motorcycle or take up Jiu Jitsu or some such

you did the first step - hanging out in a truck forum for sure is closer to the desired target than Yoga class with blonde middle-aged women
I mean, how can you meet guys if you don't hang out where the guys are

Well, as it turns out I'm not looking for anyone right now... I have to work on myself first and my kids are #1 priority. If someone should fall into place that's great if not that means its just not the right time

the original plan was to go to a budget contemporary diner in an upscale shopping plaza called DISH - well, when I got there, I found a piece of paper taped to inside of the door "pursuant to unpaid lease...owner took posession....establishment closed until further notice...."
instead, I suggested place next door for which I had seen numerous advertisements in PHOENIX magazine, called BLOOM (the restrooms were so dark I had trouble finding the flush button, but hey, I am old )
so, to sample the greatest variety at this VERY trendy place, we ordered several dishes to be split (and the good thing was that they split onto individual dishes before serving ; I hate concommittant stabbing at distant things ):
the "everything chopped" salad: yes, it had a lot of different things, came with sorta a Caesar dressing, most interesting ingredient was the escarole (slightly bitter leafy stuff)
the warm artichoke hearts with shaven parmesan and truffle oil were EXCELLENT
the roasted half-duck with whipped potatoes, wilted spinach and drunken cherry sauce left me with the dark part of the duck , but it was really good nevertheless
the Cote du Rhone was rather unremarkable
