Best place for online appliances?
I need a new fridge. A small one for our cottage. Something around 10 cubic feet.
Checked Sears, Lowes, Home Depot, Amazon, Best Buy Found the best price and free shipping at US Appliance: LRBP1031TT LG 10 cu. ft. Compact Bottom Freezer - Titanium Any place I should be checking? they are about the biggest from what I understand. I bought a stove off the internet, not from them, and it went pretty smooth. There was about a weeks delay because it was not in stock as advertised but other than that it was OK.

We just redid the kitchen. Went to a local shop that carried everything we wanted. Not only did they give us the best prices we saw anywhere, they gave us free delivery and offered to come back and pick up anything we wanted to toss out any time we were ready. So don't forget about local.

I'm gonna make a few calls tomorrow, but the only problem is everything local around here is roughly 25% more than on the mainland.
Gas is $5.05 here. ![]() Quote:

for an appliance i would pay the premium to buy locally, and I doubt it as big as you think especially if you ask them to price match. think of it as buying a better warranty.
i bought a stove model not sold in our town last year. there was a crimped pipe when they delivered so we had no stove for 10 days. then the oven regulator went and it took 10 days for a service call and another two weeks to come back to install the part. __________________ 93 fzj80 66 fj40L m101cdn trailer 91 LS400 sedancruiser "Diplomacy is the art of having someone else impose your will on you" Lester Pearson "I have the conch" Piggy |

When I remodeled our house, I bought most everything from Homeclick.com. Free shipping most of the time. US appliance did not have all of the Dacor appliances we put it. I just bought an icemaker from Homeclick as well and the free shipping was still there.
Edit: As far as warranty is concerned. I had a problem with the igniters on my range. The local place came out and worked on it. This was after they told me that I would not be able to get warranty service if I bought it off the internet. They wanted 10% more than I bought mine for and I would have had to pay state sales tax. Not a big deal for a small purchase, but when you buy 10000 dollars worth of appliances, sales tax adds up. __________________ '75 FJ-40-In pieces on my garage floor. -Buildup thread here '07 Titanium FJC- wife's ride My statement to my wife: "All of the accumulated crap in my shop will be really useful if I find a use for it."
