What would you do with 15k?

I was thinking about what I would spend 15 grand on and wondered what the crowd thought.

What would you spend 15k on? here are some rules:

The money can't be spent on existing bills/debt or put into investments/savings.

No more Cruisers or upgrades to them.

What I was thinking about:
new roof
new fence
see some family

That would leave about 7k - now what? Vegas? An extremely drunk, sloppy mess of a gambling weekend with some friends?

Or I could remodel my kitchen appliances = boring.

Any ideas on what you would do?

I will have to pass on the Drugs.

The boat idea, I thought about that for a while, but don't know how much I would really use it in the long run. I could be talked into it I guess.

I looked up that hooker chick, she must be good at what she does for that much cash. I don't think she's even that hot. Aw Hell, give me a $20 bottle of vodka and I'd probably bang Courtney Love (but I wouldn't pay her for it).

Land Eh? I like that idea. I don't know if 15k would get too much land these days. I suppose it depends on where you get it. I'll bet its pretty cheap along the mississippi these days.

There are more people than ever, all looking at the same amount of land, this trend will continue, right now real estate market is depressed, it is a good time to buy.

15K will not buy much in the city but it should get you 3 to 5 acres in the country,

Id sink 15k into oil company stocks----that way when gas prices rise.....your stock earnings will offset future prices at the pump on your cruiser.

I would buy 7500 pairs of $2 shoelaces. I hate when my laces break.

Alright, I looked at your profile due to this. Garbage Pail Kids were not in my age group, but they were in my younger brothers. You are a young shit. Sorry, you just lost any credibility with me you did'nt have.

I vote for boat. You can get more than you can afford right now due to everyone not being able to afford gas and selling their toys.

As for the boring option, if you sink it into your house and remodel, you might recoup it plus some when housing rebounds in 3-5 years.

buy a little piece of land, and build a fishing pond on it

That's something you can enjoy immediately and for years to come.

* Pay for a 40-foot container filled with our LC and the household goods (plus lots of tools, tools, tools).

* Pay to put our '82 IHC/Firetek 16000# 4X4 on a RORO.

* Get the bumper and winch we need for the IHC.

* Move forward - much quicker - with our plan to get our butts to the beach in Central America.

* Maybe, just maybe, buy one more rig (for now) on GL or GSA.

Why does it seem like $15000 doesn't go very far?...

I'd get a nice, low mileage BMW 1100/1150/1200 GS motorcycle. Depending on what I'd find, I could be parting with anywhere from $7K to $15K for it. And then just ride, ride, ride . . .
