Anyone heard of Riddex?

Some fancy schmancy "digital pest repellent" that I saw advertised on TV. Looks like bullshit to me, but I'm curious as to if any of you have actually tried it (and if it is, in fact, bullshit).

Nah this is some electronic thing you plug in that they say will repel mice, rats, bugs, etc.

I'm not buying into the hype, but it did get my attention (got an ant and spider problem here).

We use one at a buddies hunting cabin and zero mice problems since. I was skeptical at first, but the one he has...works. Looks like it was made in a highschool electronics shop

Ya, It's ultrasonic. The high frequency that we can't hear drives rodents crazy so they leave the area. I tried it on the dog once and it works.

I have something similar in my garage to keep the rats out. Just now I realized that I have my daughters pet rats in in their cages in the garage I'm prolly driving them crazy

I has lots of Black Widows around my house. I periodically spray everything with spider killer and it works

I don't know if they work, but if your sensitive to that kind of crap, after prolonged exposure you feel like you want to die.

A friend has like 4 in his house, and whenever I'm there for more than a couple hours I get splitting headaches and feel really nauseous.

they don't work.

I had a couple in my garage last year when it was infested with rats (I have a thread somewhere here about it).

get one of those boxes that electrocutes them if you want to be rid of rats.

The problem I'm having here is with spiders, ants and centipedes. I'd rather not bomb the place, but I suppose I could just have the landlords call an exterminator...

same thing. doesn't work.

if you don't want to bomb the place, get yourself a gecko and let it run around your place. sure...you'll have gecko shit in a few spots, but your insect problems will be all but history.

I haz geckoes.

And huntsman spiders.

They eat insects.

Lots.

Guess I should qualify my earlier response. The Gizmo in the cabin seems to work, but it does emit an audible sound, not b-a-a-a-d, but it does make you wanna shit yer pants. However, no mice. Den of red foxes in the crawl space every spring, but nothing IN the cabin. Must not be a "Riddex"

Well, yeah. It emits a sort of chirping sound...seems like there are 3 levels, any of which make you wanna shit or go blind. It does, however keep the little rodents out of the cabin. The mice ate the nose off a really fine 10-point shoulder mount But the taxidermist had another nose
