Ok...is my friend full of crap?

My friend who has an FJ has a ARB bumper, rear bumper, 33" BFG M\Ts w\ spidertrax wheel spacers, all-pro sliders, and about a 200lbs sub box (including subs) in the back of his vehicle. He also has a roof rack and a 3" lift. He is trying to tell me, that he is getting 25+ MPG on the highway. The only engine mods he's done is CAI, Doug headers, and the URD chip...how in the HELL, is he getting remotely CLOSE to 25? He seems to think that the headers and urd chip and cai made up for the 33" and extra 500-600lbs on his car (he also has around 200lbs of sound deadening in it as well).

Does anybody else think he's blowing this MPG crap out of his ass?

I don't think he should even be close to STOCK right now.

Here's a picture of his claims...

Should also add he had his BROTHER in the car...so around 800+lbs added on his vehicle now. Engine mods are as noted: JBA exhaust, TRD CAI, Headers, and URD Y-Pipe and URD Chip. He claims his odo proves it too...he says he got 313 miles out of 12.3 gallons.

(I think he still fails to see that there isn't a single fjer around (even owners that have ONLY done engine upgrades, no armor or weigh downs) that has claimed 25 MPG but him...not to mention someone who has this much crap weighing down his cruiser and claiming it. So I guess theortically if you got doug headers, cai, y-pipe, and a jba exhaust, and DIDN'T weigh your vehicle down with steel bumpers, racks, and sound deadner\subwoofers, and retained stock weight, then with those four modications you'd be getting 31+ MPG right? Because deducting 800 lbs would equal around that in terms of MPG if you're getting 25 right now magically. Yet...the people who have done what he has done...report 19...and that's not with steel bumpers...or sound deadener weighing them down...so apparently his FJ Cruiser is magical. Next month I'm sure it will be able to fly around the air at Mach 3 speeds.

Anyway. I have clocked some really high MPG values for my FJ60 that no one around here believes.

Um, I'd personally like to see a certificate stating the odometer has been properly calibrated, then the old noggin using a simple formula of miles driven / gallons of gas refueled. Do this about three times for some repeatability then one of you two will be given the other some lip service.
