Tahiti Village or other Las Vegas Deal/Package

Looking to go to Vegas June 30 to July 3.
Anyone know about the Free Tahiti Village package?

I have never vacationed in Vegas. It will be just the wife and me.
Are there any other package deals out there?
How about should I go about booking a great deal?

Time is money. I don't sit through crappy presentations knowing I'm not buying to get a free room. Try it if you must, I suppose.

Screw that. Go to the real Tahiti, well French Polynesia. Tahiti is beat.

Just came back from Vegas (was there on the memorial day long weekend), and every casino is swarming with suits trying to sell you on some kind of time share.

Was my first time, and last time, there. I would have prefered to be on a beach at an all inclusive resort, but this was the wifes idea.

Everyone needs to go to Vegas once, with the emphasis on "once."

vegas is meant to be experienced from a drunken, sleep-deprived haze. i'll be there july 1-2 for my cousin's 21st birthday and don't plan on sleeping. i'm excited except for the fact that it's going to be insanely hot...

there are a lot of plane/hotel deals to be found online. you don't need a car if you plan on staying anywhere on/near the strip-- there are taxis EVERYWHERE and some shuttles, too. if you want to go to a show, i don't think the cirque du soleil shows can be beat!

Don't forget about the monorail. If you stay slightly away from the main Vegas Strip area, you'll save a ton of money. I stayed at the Stratosphere for $35 a night last year. The room was fairly decent too.

We did the Tahiti Village presentation with free room/plane ticket thing once. My wife wanted to do it. About halfway through it, I wanted to strangle her.

The shows were fun I must admit. We stayed at the Excalibur and watched the Tournament of Kings show one night. The meal was "meh" (dry chicken, not enough beer) at best, but the entertainment was great. Very well choreographed, as those guys were smoking each other pretty hard. Paint flying off shields, sparks etc.
Finally taking a break from the endless walking, we had tickets for Cirque de Soleils "Zumanity" show. That was a lot of fun, but don't sit anywhere near the front row if you get embarrased easily.
Oh, and don't buy the popcorn in the theatre. I nearly choked on it when I glanced at my receipt later....$7.50 for a paltry little amount, served up in a chinese takeout box.

Don't bother with the timeshare bullshit - Vegas is full of deals and there are some decent hotels off the strip and just a short taxi ride away. The monorail is a ripoff - might as well take a cab if there are two of you. I'd recommend the Palms, the Luxor, and Mandalay Bay. North end of the strip is always too packed with people IMO. Red Rock and Green Valley are nice if you want to avoid the strip completely and old downtown is cool cause everything is sooo cheap.

The presentation itself is around 90 minutes, then there's the hard sell session, which is about 90 minutes, then there's the waiting around to get your endorsement, which is another half hour. Try doing it with a hangover, growling stomach, and sensory overload. Not pleasant. There's lots of cheering, and balloons, and applause, and....nevermind. Do it. It'll be an unforgettable experience.

Any of them worth a free stay in a king bed?

I heard Rosie O'Donnell pitching this very thing on the local sports radio station today. When I heard it, all I could think of was...

EDIT: It wasn't Rosie O'Donnell. It was Roseanne Barr. I get the nasties confused some times.

I had two college buddies go to one in Cabo. They dropped like 12K apiece. They never could work out their schedules to go, and they never could arrange a swap for another time share closer. I think they sold it a few years ago and got like 1500 bucks back apiece. And they were happy to get that. Not to even mention the yearly regime fees they had to pay...
