To downright take away all of our guns like Britain and Aus. has done would require an amend. to our constitution, and we would get to vote on it.
There are many things that could be prohibited like ammunition prices, transport of said ammunition, semi-automatic fire arms, anything with barrel under x inches, anything larger than a certain caliber, ammunition capacities. Heck they could even go as far as to limit the types of gun powder used to make the ammo so that they limit the effective range, stopping power, and usefulness of said ammo.
The NRA fought a bill here recently that prohibited the transport of explosives(which includes ammunition). This bill would have effectively made getting ammo for a gun for all intensive purposes impossible.
Before you go and show your IQ by calling me names you might want to figure out if you are wrong first. That is twice in the past week you have done this.
And on a side note, what good is a firearm if you can't buy ammo for it? None!

Exactly, hence the death of a thousand cut's. It doesn't start with them knocking on your door.

I agree. They will never have to knock on the door. If they ban the ammunition then what are we going to use our guns for. They won't even have to spend millions confiscating and cutting all our guns up. They will just let them set hanging on our walls while we wonder why we voted democrat.

So back on the actual topic of the thread. Which candidate is the 3rd party/write in choice hurting the worst?
Ross Perot lost it for Bush and Nader did the same for Gore......so who is going to be hurt by that third guy?

Reminds me of that South Park epiosde where they are voting for a new mascot. The two choices for their new mascots are douche and turd sandwich. Neither are good choices. So I guess the next best thing is to vote for whoever will do the least amount of damage.
I am just thankful for the opportunity to vote. Hopefully there will be a big turnout for this election.

I had originally been thinking of casting my vote for Obama..........but Atticus knocked some starch out of my reasoning, namely the Heller SCOTUS decision.
Lets see, if SCOTUS gives us a broad 2nd ammendment ruling, I will vote idealistically for Obama. If we get a narrow ruling or a fawked one, I probably won't.
if Obama picks Hillary as VP I will vote for somebody else.
Will I vote McCain..........no way, I will pencil in Skillet's name instead.
Sorry...........we need more info to make a truly informed choice.

What I meant by that was:
For the normal people getting ammo would be nearly impossible. If you can't transport it then you would have to make the gun powder yourself and that isn't practical.

So why are you worried about having your guns taken away. Do you think that the majority of the U.S. population would vote to have a ban on all firearms?
Ammunition prices could be prohibited? I’d like to see that. Free ammo everybody!
Contrary to your “the world will end if a democrat is in office” theory, we have a system of checks and balances in our government in order to eliminate the possibility of your constitutional rights being stripped from you. Regardless of what you might think, the sky is not falling.
What bill? Show me the bill. Was it in the house or senate for review or vote?
I don’t have a problem comparing IQs with you. Let’s do it. Winner takes the others cruisers and guns. Sound good?
Firearms without ammunition can be very bad. This was illustrated when your father caused severe trauma to your head when he beat you with the butt of a revolver throughout your childhood. The effects are evident and lasting.

Again, the sky is not falling. They are not going to ban firearm ammunition. If they did, there would be a revolution which would fix things up in a jiffy.
Here’s a tip: “set” is not the word you are looking for. “sit” is the word you want to use in this sentence. You do this all the time. Who is really “showing their IQ”?

What is your degree in, and you do realize you got it from UA right? You question my intelligence when I use "set" instead of "sit". But you started the arguement by calling me a name I don't care to quote. Whos the dumb one? I use a wrong word and you can't construct an arguement without calling a person names.....hmmm?
Anyway, maybe prohibitive should have been the word I used. assumed everyone here was smart enough to realize what I was meaning, apparently not.
Like I pointed out in the paragraph of mine you so beautifully quoted.............They don't have to ban the guns. They could elect to introduce legislature limiting certain aspects of ammunition or they could even put extremely stiff taxes on the purchase of firearms the only vote we would get in this process is the vote we made for senators and representatives, and if you ask me I don't like the big cities controlling that vote. That would keep the average person from buying ammo or firearms.

Chemical Engineering.
Let me reiterate: THE WORLD IS NOT ENDING! THE SKY IS NOT FALLING! Why are you so scared? I'm not trying to change your vote. I'm trying to get it across to you that your statements are less than intelligent and the government is not going to take away your right to bear arms. Why aren't you worried about your right to free speech and your right to privacy?
You keep calling me dumb, but you didn't respond to my IQ challenge question. What's the matter lunyou?
