Lunyou, do you know why we haven't attacked Iran, even though they have links to terrorism and we haven't had normalized relations with them since 1980?

are you waiting for him to type "no, why?". or is this just a long pause for dramatic effect.

I dunno, the dems might get enough in Congress to run roughshod over McCain if he wins. This year, they've lost three solidly republican (for the last 14 years anyway) house seats in special elections. Bush was just handed his first veto override, and is about to get his second. Even enough republicans are hearing enough complaints to realize they need to start getting to work marginalizing Bush and putting an end to his policies. I wonder how they'd behave during Bush's third term?

As for McCain, the only thing I respect about him, and it is just about the only thing, is that if there were ever to be someone in the White House who puts troops in harm's way, at least he'd be the motherfucker who knew what it truly meant.

That notwithstanding, I still have to wonder if his grasp of the gravity of such situations makes him any less likely to do it as capriciously as the current jackas... commander-in-chief.

Considering that he has had moments of Golden Boy Syndrome, I dunno. There are times when you can see him want to tell the truth. Other times, he's pure politico. But once in a while, he gets that sparkle in his eye, where it looks like he's gonna run with the football. It's what kept him out of 2000 and 2004. He's agreed to play by the rules this time around, but once he gets the big prize, he might go all Justice League on our asses and tell the GOP to go fuck itself. One can only hope, anyway.
To answer your question, considering his stance on torture, I think he remembers pretty well the importance of sending someone into battle. Can't call him a chicken hawk, and that's important to me. Other than that, I hate his policies.

Obama : "We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK,"
For those of you that will vote for him. Expect to turn the dial down and trade in your cruiser....We can't do what we want anymore.

Okay, his platform is pretty wide, so I'll give you a snippet from his website:
"John McCain Will Help Americans Hurting From High Gasoline And Food Costs. Americans need relief right now from high gas prices. John McCain will act immediately to reduce the pain of high gas prices."
No mention of HOW he's planning to do this. Just that he will.
Look, there's a lot of "ISSUES" on his website, and frankly, what I've gotten from him is the same rhetoric that we get from both sides. "There's a huge problem, I'll tackle it head on, for prosperity, security, and America's future" blah blah blah.
I just want to hear the truth. I want them to give an honest assessment of their own abilities to fix the problems that they can fix, and point out the problems they can't. I want them to debate the third party candidates, I want them to answer questions that have weight, and when all is said and done, I want them to name names and drop bombs.
Plus, every time I hear him say "I'm a Reagan Republican" I want to scream. That's all we need, another Borrow and Spend GOPer with an itchy trigger finger and a full checkbook.

Other then the last paragraph, I completely agree. Oh, and that's a vastly different and more intelligent statement then, "Other than that, I hate his policies".
Thank You.

No, thank you. I thought I hated McCain's policies. Now that I've perused his website, I realize he actually doesn't have any.

Then it should be a coin flip for you between McCain and Obama.
Seriously though, I wasn't trying persuade you into supporting McCain or anything actually. I was just curious what you hated about his policies. Which, you didn't answer in your response to my question and now you've stated that he doesn't have any so meh.

Wow those poll results are looking very similar to Bush vs. Kerry '04. It was almost a 50/50 split in 2004. Pretty damn close. But if I remember right the polls on IH8MUD where showing Bush with a pretty good lead over Kerry
BUSH vs. KERRY

Agree, disagree, whatever, but regarding not having a plan, you need to spend more time in these sections:

Dude, I did read them. I got nothing out of them. It's all rhetorical crap. Snippets meant for the Maxim Reader Attention Span. Set 'em up and knock 'em down.

Really? He's pro gun ownership, pro life, pro universal health care, pro keeping troops in Iraq, pro securing the border (lengthy), etc.
Dude, what did you read? Those are his beliefs and would therefore (assumed) be supported by his actions (policies). If you're expecting a line by line explanation of exactly how he, or any candidate, will enact their policies, well the world isn't that simple my friend.

No, I guess line by line illustrations and carefully and thoughtfully fleshed out ideas and essays aren't as simple as rehashing the same old 90-word rhetoric snippets about "strong beliefs" and re-injecting the words "secure", "prosperous", and "America" over and over and over and over again.
Wait, which one's the simple one again?

The only thing I like about the upcoming election is...............which ever guy wins the election they won't have that much effect over anything.
They cannot controll OPEC, they will try to ban our guns, stop abortions, stop gay rights, or any other party related issue and nothing will happen. Bush had a republican controlled senate and house his first few years......what did he change when it comes down to the main issues most people argue about? I think gun owners might have recieved a few more rights like higher capacity magazine for rifles and such. Abortion legislature hasn't changed and really gay rights hasn't changed either.
A friend of mine is a huge Ron Paul fan....I asked how does he stand on these issues, and he said on almost all of them he is "states-choice" which to me is just a way of not having a stand on the issue. But now that I get to thinking about it. I would rather the ignorant liberal states ban guns or certain types of guns instead of the whole USA ban guns. I can choose which state to live in, but I don't have that kind of freedom when choosing my country.
