Family goes through about a case per 2 weeks.
It's an easy way to give the kids a quick snack, and I love the stuff. __________________ Quote:

I used to carry those sometimes in my cave pack when I was low on MRE'S or for another beginner that maybe forgot food.

A while back, I read an article about indigenous people in the mountains of South America who had switched from their traditional staple food sources to ramen, because it was easier to carry from the valleys, where they farmed and went to market, to the mountain tops, where they lived. They wound up malnourished and facing severe nutritional deficiencies. I've looked for the story this week, but can't find it.
I guess the lesson is, everything in moderation. . . .

I have some in case there is a food shortage, or a run on the grocery store as in riots/looting.
In other words, I will only eat it if I have to, to survive. __________________ Keep going, Sam "Is it being prepared to do the right thing, whatever the cost. Isn't that what makes a man?" it's not food, it's not good, I'd rather lick the lint off my carpet than eat that shit.

It's the spice pack that is horrific, otherwise it's just noodles. I never use more than half the spice pack, usually only 1/4 of it. It's much more palatable that way. It still usually gives me an MSG headache though.

I've come to the conclusion, in particularly after reading these ramen threads, that yankees, as a whole, don't know shit about good eats.

You should move to Hawaii. You just missed the annual SPAM festival, and no it was not a computer convention.

Ramen is very handy to have around for that quick snack--cooked or not. "Doctored" up or plain. There is always at least a case of it available where ever I reside. In the cupboard, there is always some of the following:
SPAM (and lots of it) Dinty Moore Stew (lots of large cans) Ramen Cup-o-Noodles (Ramen's rich cousin) Ro-tel Velveeta MRE's Beans of various types Bottled water Oatmeal Powdered Milk Beer Booze. __________________ Sparkplugs are Irrelevant. 1976 HJ-45; 1984 BJ-42; 1988 BJ-73; & 1993 KZJ-70 Quote:

I read a quote many years ago that said "Everything in moderation, including moderation." I'll be damned if I can find that sucker anywhere. Not in quotation dictionaries, not on the World Wide Waste of time, not by my English-professer sister. Has anybody ever heard this before? Oh, and I eat the shit out of ramen. My current fav is the pork. Deeeelicious! When I was growing up, my Dad called it spaghetti soup. Actually, he still does.
