So I had a "Red Bull" for the first time the other day...

I don't get it. I didn't feel any particular energy, and about an hour later I had what I can only describe as the worst sugar crash of my life.

One caveat is I usually don't consume caffeine. Someone gave me this thing so I drank it.

MEH.

What's the big deal with these "energy drinks"?

So you fell for it The big deal is you pay twice as much as normal soft drink for half the amount and it tastes crap
The caffeine is much less than a cup coffee so even that wont help you.

You might as well pay for bottled water,at least its not harmfull

Well, like I said, it was free.

OTOH, I really enjoyed Jolt when it was on the market. I remember they sponsored the Beastie Boys "License to Illl" tour, and they gave it out at the door. 15,000 teenagers wired on free Jolt... good times indeed!

You must have no taste buds left alive.

Red Bull tastes just like piss smells and adding jagermeister would basically make it taste like piss smells if it had cough syrup in it.

Mmmmmm

But Jeager is only good...............NEVER!

*barf*

Red Bull sux anyway. The only things I like are those 5 Hour Energy shots. Those don't get you wired or jittery. They just "wake you up" for lack of a better way to put it, and you don't crash afterwards. They're great before making the long (usually boring) drive across the state when I go home to my folks' place.

Pfffft, Jeagermeister is a poor representation of Germany. A real Germanic/Nordic drink is Baerenfang.

if you will add one of the small cans of Red Bull into a 42 oz cup and fill with a desired amount of Code Red Mt. Dew it is actually good and since I don't drink much caff. it really hops me up but it makes me really hungry and if I haven't eaten anything in a while then I get the shakes.

Bawls, which is a favorite of graduate students and computer scientists(ask Nater if he likes it) is also a good source of energy.

Redbull rocks.... do not doubt it's power!

Seriously, working 3rd shift I'll get caught up in something during the day and end up staying up for 36hrs straight. Redbull is the only energy drink I've tried that wakes me up with out sending my heart rate through the ceiling. I don't know if people just react differently the drinks or what... but even the caffine in Mountian Dew will send my heart rate up and not seem to keep me as "awake".
