Had a good day. Tracked down a database problem in a database that is still very unfamiliar to me. Wrote queries to isolate it, and scripts to repair the problem.

That's what it's all about, fuckers. Not personnel management at the hippie co-op.

I'm really enjoying this job, so far. I'm a lot less miserable at this one than I was at the co-op.

when I was at the co-op, every day felt like a week... By the end of my monday, I'd feel like it should be friday, and like I needed another weekend to recuperate.

At this job, I can't believe how fast the week goes by... Tomorrow is Thursday, and it feels like it's only tuesday or something.

Pulled a similar move yesterday at our only real outdoor gear store. Those guys will be sooooo screwed if REI ever comes.

They need to ask themselves, in this economy, in a part of the country that it taking it harder than many others (midwest in general), if they can afford to shun the few customers that exist who have money and are willing to spend it.

Bad economies tend to bring more "customers" to my employer, by contrast.
