CORRECT!

How come the diesel guy was the first one to pick this up? Bunch of internal combustion four stroke slackers.

It's still going nearly three times as fast as the 100...I can't imagine getting the V8 up to 6000 rpm.

Firing. As long as they are both four-stroke. Suck, squeeze, bang, blow.

Further, if the thumper is turning 6,000 rpm's, and the 100 turning 2,000, then the thumper's piston is firing three times as often as any single piston in the V8. But, seeing as how the V8 has eight times the pistons, the ratio of total piston firings of Thumper/100 = 3/8.

Anyway, one day there's a knock on the door -- it's the landlord, who was the former police chief in town and a couple of rather scruffy looking dudes with some really expensive camera stuff. He told me they were narcotics detectives, part of a joint task task force between the Beloit, WI and South Beloit, IL polce departments, Rock County, WI and Winnebago County, IL sheriffs, IL and WI State Police... and would be setting up surveillance on the landing outside my apartment, and not to be startled or concerned by them, and not to mention it to anyone. (It was one of those old fashioned apartments where you unlock a door and walk up a narrow staircase next to the storefront, and enter the apartment through another door, and they were using the window on the landing as a vantage point)

They were nice guys.
Maybe that's why they use the field. They can see clearly for about 300 yards in every direction. Now, if you could sneak up, it wouldn't take much to clamp a lock on the gate and have them locked up for easy processing.

The 2UZ-FE in the 4Runner Redlines at 5500 RPM... Not that I've ever had it up that high. No, never. Nope, It's not like I've ever had some asshole from Illinois next to me at a light when I'm in a lane that ends not long past the intersection, and he refused to let me in so I had to put the hammer down and embarrass his stupid ass.

That never happened.

I'm going to bed. Early rise time to drive to BFN and do surgeries. Not riding the XT. I MIGHT be ready for that trip by the end of the summer. Maybe. I have to work my way up to it. So far my longest ride was 15 miles.

Same engine. Rarely go over 4K. I think.

I don't know if they ever arrested anyone from it.

But, come to think of it, I could just look it up on my database tomorrow. Anyone wanna read Jeffrey Dahmer's prison records? How about Ed Gein's records from the looney bin?

Doh! I had Olympic on the brain--a lot of police bicycle clothing is made by a company with the name of Olympic. I've got some of that stuff at the house . . . still.

I don't have the long jacket and overpants here in BFE, but I'll be wearing them (minus the thermal layer) for the drive up yonder.

You're ready, amigo. It's all in the mindset. And I think you're there.
