First thing I always did when I heard downsizing was to update and polish the resume and send it to a couple good head hunters preemptively. Virginia, Michigan, Nevada, Nebraska and probably a few other states view vehicle registration as another property tax. I hated that when I lived in Virginia. I'm a believer that it should be based upon weight and fuel type--NOT value.
