Or, maybe not.

Freakin' weird!
Those seem to be the worst. Baby was safe? Good work by the LEOs, they did good. Sucks when people flip out like that.

Except I don't think semlin needs the 2x4 cladding on the joints--they are not single posts or double posts holding up a sign, they are part of a rectangular structure, and therefore won't have the same kind of stresses.

He probably could get away with just doing the joint (though I'd make it taller than Steven's picture, and use top and bottom bolts).

Then again, no sense in polishing a turd. If it gets too tough, semlin should look into getting some rough lumber and constructing a new one.

We got a lilac last year. Pretty sturdy/purdy. But I guess technically it's a bush.

Bradford pear.... which I hate but it has no fruit and flowers that are very pretty... fast grower and little or no care required. You should water it daily for about a week when you plant it.

It is a tree that they use in landscape a lot around here to screen shopping centers and for the centers of the roads... should be pretty reasonable for your cost.

No, I advise against this. They may flower, they may grow fast, and they may be cheap, but there is a reason for that.

Their flowers smell like dogshit.

Their "crotches"--grouping of branches--are too tight, resulting in the tree losing a lot of branches during windstorms. The bigger the tree, the bigger the branches lost.

I am thinking of this, although probably not the texas but the eastern variety (whatever they sell here in the nursery ):

they are in bloom around here right now - haven't seen all that many, so it would stand out
