I used my circular pipe brush too, then degreased it and brushed it some more. It was all shiny in there but it still didn't want to stick even with copious flux. Part of the problem was the largish gap that had to be filled with solder I think.

When I tried to get the screen soldered back on the Swiss part came loose from the copper again. That's when I gave up. I don't really need the screen. I'm not buying roadside gas in Mexico out of random 55 gallon drums.

No worries, it's very functional as is.

my mother on the other hand continues to enjoy wine that's what we drink together, and aquavit, which she keep in the freezer compartment

Turns out that it's held on by about half a dozen plastic fasteners...

WTF?

I was mortified when I replaced my 100 bumper with the ARB bar and found that the stock bumper was a little folded piece of metal covered with styrofoam and then the big plastic cover.

yeah, sorry to hear, too - this seems not too uncommon ; I know of two collegues who died totally unexpectedly out of the blue - one was the same age, the other younger

but I have to echo this

a neighbor from a cove at the other end of the lake came by

apparently, word travels fast (no, he can't see our house from his place, so he could not see the lights in the house at night)

he is the guy for the "there's crap on my beach" and "my sandhill outlot grows weeds" jobs

he came by to tell me he found crap on my beach and that from now on, he will just send one bill at the end of the year

we got nice Lily of the Valley flowering

but the winter must have been long and hard - the iris are barely driving the flower stalks up and will not open for at least another two weeks

the ornamental grasses are all very slow this year as well

I saw two turkeys in the last two days
