If I run, it's not for long distances, and I do it in boots anyway. I've got a bum ankle that will turn with a quickness, so I can't take the risk.

One day I will find out what I tore in my ankle.

The vasque's are light and stiff. That's my favorite part about them. They tend to be super minimal on the uppers to keep them light weight, with a tough strong heel cup and sole to keep your feet from getting beat up on the rocks. If you are going to be in any kind of wetness...might wanna look to something goretex. It makes them a LOT heavier, but might be worth it to keep the foots dry.
