My wife's consulting firm just held a workshop for the FSU School of Medicine for team building to try to get those guys to start working in harmony toward a common goal and set of objectives instead of cutting each other off at the knees every opportunity they can.

Two weeks?! That's a perfect road trip duration! woot! I will be at TUTX-II for sure and I'm pretty sure my brother and his wife will join us. I am giving up my turn to go to the Royal Hawaiian Eye Society meeting so I can go to TUTX-II. __________________ If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate. Looks just like my Collegiate. I love mine, it's my commuter, at least until we move.

We were thinking of doing communal TUT lodging at TUT-X II. If my brother comes I need lodging for 6 people, meaning three bedrooms. This might make the all-TUT communal thing difficult unless we find a really big house or something...

Some vintage Schwinns (70's and 80's IIRC) used "English" sized tires. They are a unique size. So an English or Schwinn 27" tire is not the same diameter as a normal 27". When I worked at a Schwinn dealer in the 80's we stocked them. Now that there's no longer Schwinn dealers, not sure what to do. If there's an old school bike shop in town, see if they have a Sutherland's manual, it should describe the above with more detail. One indicator if they are special rims are serrations on the rim in between the spoke nipples

Here is a pic of FIL's plane after a crash landing that was caused by flack ruining the hydraulics which caused no brake syndrome... they had sufficient fluid to lower the gear but when he hit the brake... RuhRoh... he rolled about 3/4 of a mile and stopped after jumping a hedgerow or three. He flew out of Rattlesden England with 447th Bomb Group and his Squadron was the 711th of the 8th Army Air Force. Elmet T. Helms is the second from left (standing) with the different insignia and the Squadron's insignia painted on his leather jacket. The bombardier has all the bombs painted on his jacket. __________________ SR+ steven d philbrick srplus@hotmail.com '86FJ60 - 'BlueBird' . '69 fj40 SOA - 'Piney Woods Rooter' . Three of the bedrooms have twin beds. Split 12 ways that's not too bad. The yooper party would take 6 of those shares, including two queen bed rooms and one twin bed room. That leaves one bedroom with a queen size bed and two with twin beds for TUTers...so a couple plus four individuals would fill up the house. This could actually work. There's a hot tub, a grill, a big deck, two family rooms, one with a pool table. ![]() Jackson Hole Rental Homes :: Three Bear Tracks House at Teton Village I don't know where "Teton Village" is in relation to the ski resort. I need to find a good map and scope this all out... __________________ If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate. Of course the leeches in the state legislature claim prop 13 is ruining schools and killing children. Perhaps it's their propensity to spend ? We already pay a 9% state income tax. __________________ '73 Datsun PL510 2 Door Saloon '97 FZJ 80 Locked Mall Cruiser. |

I'll have to look into that tire size thing, mine don't quite fit. The guy at the bike shop says you can make regular size ones work, but it's a pain in the ass. I've only been able to do it a couple of times.

I can't remember whether the Collegiate was around when I bought my Suburban. IIRC what ever was the other bike that I considered it was less expensive. I got the ten speed Suburban because of its ability to take the punishment of a commuter and the fenders because I did not like muddy balls and a wet stripe on my back every day during the summer.
I did not get a car until I was 21 and used the bike for all commuting except home to Pompano... that was way too far. I put many miles on that bike and even participated in a 40 mile road race. I changed out the handlebars to under slung ones and removed the fenders and most of the weight adding stuff... I think I got the package down to 37 pounds with new dérailleurs and the other stuff including shift levers. I finished second overall in the amateur division. It was my first road race and put a lot of dreams into my head. I found a Bianchi that was under twenty pounds but the price was more than I could afford. The guy that finished first ended up racing professionally and opened up a bike shop to support his habit. This is very close to what my dream bike looked like. IIRC the total weight was 17 pound and change... it weighed less than half what my bike weighed when it was stripped, even with the metal clips to hold the cables in place. I remember the aqua and the red tape on the bars but I think the Bianchi logo was more in white with a black outline.

Cawfee time. I cut the grass yesterday becasue it is supposed to rain today. I gotta decide what to do with my day. Cut two trees down, put out pine straw, wrench, vacuum, design removable tailgate for the trailer for better fuel economy to TuTAp, or a combination. Tomorrow is Hash day and that is what mommy wants to do I think.
