Hey fuckers.

We're about to leave for YooperLand. At least the far northern reaches of Wisconsin, which are geographically, economically, socially and culturally the same as YooperLand. I've often wondered why the UP isn't just a part of Wisconsin in the first place. It seems so strange for Michigan to own this whole other peninsula that should be in another time zone which is totally separate from the "Mainland" of Michigan, and is so different in terms of economics and culture.

Anyway.

Just talked to Greg. Looks like he's picking up the BMW next Sunday, and will be delivering it to WI shortly thereafter.

We got some settlement news today. Nothing bad (for us, anyway) but it'll probably delay the settlement by a few days.

It seems Katie's ex employer is having "problems" with a certain branch of the the federal government. One that investigates civil rights violations. Especially "repeated" and "numerous" violations. It's not a problem for us or the settlement, we're just working out a deal with them so that we don't turn into witnesses against them in their federal govt problems.

Those stupid fuckers. That department's administration's favorite pastime up there is fucking people over and then covering each other's asses. They should have known that eventually someone who is a hell of a lot bigger, badder, richer and more "lawyered up" than they are would one day come knocking....

Sounds like that settlement number just got a little higher. Kick 'em in the nutz and kick 'em when they are down.

Do they have insurance coverage for this sort of thing? I sometimes have mixed feelings with the making someone pay when the someone who is paying is not the fucker who caused the situation.
