What? This is a "lightweight", not the super heavy Schwinn Continental.

It is not a light bike, but a lot of its weight comes in from the components of the day. It weighed in at 31lbs before I started taking it apart. The frame, fork, saddle and bars weigh 17lbs. The new crank, wheels, tires and saddle will be lighter than what I took off.

My Specialized Rock Hopper FS weighs 28lbs.

I hate doing small tyres. ATV and ride on mower tyres are the worst.

I had my bikes mixed up as to which one you were doing. I had an old 10 speed Suburban... it had fenders and chromed handlebars... it came in at 52# with steel seat post and all.

Holy CRAP! That is what I want for daily transport.

This bike is a chrome moly frame and the tubes were cut by machine, but they were welded together by hand. A few years later, the Super Sport became one of the heavy bikes, lesser quality material, and all machine assembled.

I drank the last of my bottle of Wild Turkey earlier. The MIL went into the dining room to check what other drinks needed to be purchased on the pub run. She found in our stash a couple of unopened bottles. New bottles of Wild Turkey and Jim Beam that I had forgotten I had.

Guess what I am drinking now

Every time I do a small mechanical job on mates fourbys they pay me with bottles of bourbon. I haven't had to buy bourbon for ages. I'd actually forgotten I had these bottles stashed away, I thought I had finally run out.

NURSE!

Thanks again for the book and the outfit for Kirra. I showed the MIL the outfit tonight and she gives it the Grandma's seal of approval on the cuteness of the outfit.
