Caught my first brook trout on that trip.
We were fly fishing. I used a double fly rig: a beadhead nymph and an egg fly. I used a floating line and two split shot between the two flies to get the egg fly down to the fishes. My friend used Climax running line. He caught more fish that I did, but I think that is mostly because he is better at it than I am. All fish were caught on a chartreuse egg fly.

I woke up with the crud and a 101 fever. I go back to bed. The coon can sit there in the trap till later. I've caught three adults with the trap so far. I just dribble a bit of cat food on the ground and place the trap over it.

My sole requirement is that it is free.
I use flickr. Costs a bit to allow unlimited downloads, but I like the format. Something like $30/year or similar.

If I catch a coho or a king salmon it comes home to eat. These are all hatchery fish, very little natural reproduction.

Suckers are nasty things. They go back in the river.

Realistically, there are places in this big country where no amount of "planning" will equate to ability to use public transportation. Welcome to BFE. My own planning involves getting up on two wheels as often as I can to use less fuel (not to mention a cheaper fuel) for the lion's share of my usual driving--my commute back and forth to BFE. It's just a small help, but a help nonetheless.
No, I planned on living here. (One of the reasons I chose living in the city right out of college was so that I didn't have to sink precious resources into a car.)

I've lived in the NJ equivalent of BFE, and car ownership would make or break you in terms of what you were capable of. I used to pedal everywhere, until I made that wonderful investment in a Peugeot. A great learning experience.

I may eventually live out in the boonies, at which point I probably will have a diesel vehicle, a motorcycle, and a bicycle. But for now, I get to gloat. (Hey, give me this--you know how many times I had people say "How can you stand living in such a small apartment?" I'm due. )

That is not the case in all developed nations. Paired with their longevity, this will be a serious economic problem for them. I would not be surprised if they considered more immigration in the near future to counter this trend.

W3rking... had a huge heart stopper since some of the required elements for a sign I am soon to install were not in the box from the vendor.

There was nothing to indicate a back order or any problem... or another box. Second back ordered box is now at the house, It better contain all the order!

W3rd. As a child, I was amazed at the fat guy who would sit in the passenger seat and operate the car with his left hand and left foot. He had a cardboard sign on his station wagon that said U. S. Mail. I guess that made it okay.

Nod. It will be fascinating to see how the Japanese culture adapts to the need to allow gaijin to immigrate.

I don't recall the actual numbers, but without immigrants making babies, the US would also be in population decline.

Yeah, the snagging isn't fun for me either.
