I did that way back in the way old days and ended up not catching one... It was a long drive from Fort Lauderdale. We ended up fishing for and catching trout wading in some of the rivers.

Standing at the river mouths shivering in the freezing water and trying to snag spawning salmon with Little Cleo spoons with huge treble hooks (like the natives were doing) was not our bag. We did not have a boat so we were stuck standing in the river waiting and watching them as they swam by.

Caught my first brook trout on that trip.

I have to go to the dentist now... can't wait to have him remove a crown, peel back the gum and scrape the roots of the teeth it is attached to.

It is supposed to give the crown a longer life since there is gum and root problems to be dealt with. I had already paid to have that done but it seems that the technician did not do it properly before the crown was installed. Now I get to pay extra to have it redone.

Why do you want to buy a tiny guitar? Won't a regular sized one do?

For all the pissing and moaning about gas prices, nobody is really in a huge hurry to change their habits. (Except for those of us who will soon be commuting to work on 50-60 MPG motorcycles, that is ) We still don't see a lot more carpooling. ( I was offered to take part in the Beloit-Madison state employee's carpool today. Once I make sure the hours will work for me, I'll prolly do it, and only use the BMW to commute to the Meeting point at the Wal-Mart parking lot) We still don't see people beating down the doors of the VW Dealers demanding TDIs; the Honda dealers inquiring about their 65 MPG diesel accord; not even the Toyota dealer for the sub-par when compared to it's competition, yet brilliantly marketed and hyped up Prius.

Anyone getting the impression that the oilco's are simply trying to find exactly how inelastic the price of fuel really is?

Personally, it'd not surprise me if we did temporarily repeal the gas tax, that the price of gas wouldn't go down that much. Pure profit for the oilcos since they're probably getting closer to finding the point at which the camel's back gets broken and demand actually begins to shift downward.

In the meantime, you think the highways and bridges are in rough shape now? Just wait till after that experiment in futility is complete. Oh yeah, not to mention all the unemployment claims... IN WI, there are legions of people and companies who wait all winter for the summer road construction season to begin so they can do more than subsist by plowing driveways and stuff...

I think the better thing would be a targeted tax cut -- on diesel fuel, since cheap transportation of goods is what drives the economy, and most of that transportation is diesel powered.
Oz's price of fuel is way higher than the US's. Diesel used to be cheaper than petrol but not anymore. For some reason the gubmint has decided to make diesel more expensive even though it is refined less and is better for the environment.

Noice

I went fishing Monday afternoon (public holiday here) and caught 3 whiting, 4 bream and a long tom. Two of the bream were legal size but I lost both of them transferring them to my bag over my shoulder. If I was in my boat or on the bank it would've been OK but because I was wading I lost both of them
