Im thinking about doing dual tcase shifters (one for hi/lo and one for 2/4) apparently its fairly easy not too expensive, and works better.

so you've applied good vacuum directly the transfer case and it won't engage?
that would be unusual. I've never heard of that happening before, and I know a lot of FJ62 owners. Usually it's the solenoids or the vacuum lines that are bad.

What we did was check solenoids, they were good then the vaccum lines all the way down the the diaphragm on the side of the tcase were good too. We checked the diaphragm and we couldn't get it to engage the rod that engages the axle. We couldn't get it to work. That is what we believe is the problem, I am going to replace it with one I know works and see what happens from there. The hubs lock correctly as well.
