Only the front needs to be cut and turned. The rear you just cut off the spring perches and weld new ones on, rear axle takes about an hour. Spring perches are $26/pair from Dodge.

Yes, you literally can just bolt the axle from Proffitts on. The c&t is the hard part of an SOA, if that is done for you teh whole project can be done in a weekend.

More ground clearance under the pumpkins with the bigger tires....

You forgot top heavy, structurally dangerous, limits articulation...etc.

I think having Proffits do it is definitely worth the money if you can afford it. Then, aside from welding new spring perches on the rear axle, its just a lot of messing with bolts. You could actually do it without removing the springs if you wanted to, but removing the springs and replacing the bushings is a good idea while you are in there.

FYI buy all new U-bolts, they stretch over time and will need to be replaced, and also if you are replacing them you can just cut the old ones off, saves a lot of time.

Oh, forgot longer shocks on that price list i made.

But no, I don't think he's over-compensating. If anything, under. . . . he needs some ground effects, too.

DO I really need longer shocks though? cuz the 60series shocks are mounted to the Ubolt Plate, which will be flipped to the top, so wouldn't the shock length stay the same??

My friends still argue with me about that. Common wisdom is to turn the diff up to gain the xtra clearance, I preffered the simpler driveshaft. Even if he buys a junkyard dc driveshaft he is probably going to have to get it resized and balanced, just as he would his existing driveshaft. So yes you can gain a little extra clearance but you really complicate the driveshaft issue.

Its like shackle reversal to me, yes you can gain some clearance by doing a shackle reversal but then you can also shove your driveshaft right through your t-case because you changed the pivot point of the spring as well as losing the mitigating benefits of the military wrap. Toyota engineers designed it the way they did for a reason, so i did not reverse my shackles.

Sandwich shop.

I was referring more to the hot waitresses than the food actually.

Fair enough. The .4 inches or whatever you gain likely isn't worth messing with it.

Hmm...
