i is back in the p-town office this am
apparently my mouse here has never had a nipple.
apparently I has become so acclimatized to using a nipple while in cloudtown and working from home over the last ten days that I cannot function without one. I just had to steal one off another computer.
what is weird is that my home computer has had a nipple for two years and I have used it there all the time but this is the first time I have ever noticed its absence at work.
perhaps I am evolving.

yup, in my truck, one of the hacks was the trailer wiring; then came the cruise control the alarm had already been removed by some PO

This is due to laziness and financial restrictions. Any monkey can open a Word document and choose "save as .pdf".
Print heavy is GOOD. Lots of text is GOOD on a website = more stuff for the search engines to index.
PDFs are good for if you really really care about how it looks when someone prints it.

I have just been drafted for another 4 years of consulting work for the feds
I really like it, but it's a shitload of work and the pay is essentially negligible for the time involved
at least they are now planning to hold the meetings in other places than just Washington (which they did for the past 5 years at least )
so I get to go to Chicago and the West Coast and.......

The lights on the dash coming on like that is known to be a symptom of an alternator problem. Each time it has happened to me it has coincided with a muddy trip. The mud clogs up the brushes in the alt and stops the charging. A quick hose and/or a tap on the side of the housing with hammer usually frees it up to start charging again. Maybe the leaky rad hose/ road salt clogged up the brushes?
It could be the trailer harness or earths or it could be the alarm too but until you can get the voltmeter to check battery voltages, etc we are all just guessing.
I would keep an open mind that it could be a couple of unrelated faults. They could be related too, but I am guessing that you have more than one problem.
|
i also fear two problems may be interacting but what i mostly suspect is the alarm. i had the alarm installed when i bought the truck. as long as i can recall, turning on the headlights with the truck off and no key in the ignition will also activate the dash heater fan. my problems yesterday were with the heater fan and the headlight/taillight/brake lights. I think something got crossed in there when they installed the alarm. the dash is coming off tonight and all of the alarm wiring goes.
btw, i cut the trailer harness out immediately and that did nothing.

G&L weddings are allowed everywhere. They just have no legal standing (marriage).
