I have no Ipod, but I can pull tracks from a cd into Itunes on the puter, so it would just stand to reason that I could then transfer said Itunes onto an Ipod, if I were so equipped

one thing that I have noticed is if you have music already saved in a WMA (windoze media player) format, you can't convert to anything useful

You do realize, of course, that there's something wrong with that pic, correct?

Well, it's time to hit the rack. Big day tomorrow, as I'm picking up the pop-up tent and then continuing the task of cruise-prep. LTRZ.

my problem is that I take so much stuff with me when wheeling that from the time I pack it to the time I need it, I have forgotten where a certain thing is

the next packing will have me hack everything into a spreadsheet that I can print out and tells me which box has what inventory

The one above is the 4door version. The one in Mick's post is the SWB 2door version. Like this:

or this one:

The top one is a LWB GQ wagon (coil springs, disk brakes)- equivilent to an 80 series

The bottom two are MQ or MK Patrols (earlier leaf springs, drum brakes)- equivilent to a 60 series

I think they are MK with the square headlights, the MQ's had round headlights IIRC

The way to tell the difference between the MQ and GQ is the bulged guards. The MQ had straight guards and the GQ had extra bulges.

NV has some of the best geology in the country. It is one state I really need to spend more time in.
check into Deep Springs College - they are always looking for teachers; no idea how they pay

pretty elite bunch, but super location; they offered me a 6 week stint way back when, but I just don't have that much time to take off to teach a bunch of future big wigs in the desert

plus, they stipulated hands-on experience, but don't have a lab... which wouldn't be a problem for you

Don't worry, I give them shit about it all the time. They are Patrol lovers though. Between the pair of them they have four Patrols. She owns the Shorty Mav in the photos and a Turbo Diesel Ute (7" springs, 2" body and 35" tyres) and he owns a Diesel wagon (6" springs, 33" tyres and PTO winch) and the pair of them own a stockish turbo diesel shorty as well.

I have seen a Rocky with 37"s but normally 33"s are the max. I'm building my Daihatsu Scat Ute to run on 37"s to match the max tyre size in the comp class it will be eligible for.

I gots to get started on mine, I just got the last couple of parts back from the shop of the folk who were supposed to do it for me, then I realized that I was missing the inner axleshaft, which means that I can't rebuild the whole works and then drop it under the truck, like I was planning.
Instead I will have to steal an inner from my drum axle, so I will have to disable the truck for a while... plan is to do one side, and in the course of things, figure out if there are other parts missing, then do the disassambled side (one side of the disc axle I bought was pirated for trail spares)

who was it that has the sst? I think I have a PM somewhere, but I think it was fred or matt??

I just wanted to know if one would really keep the crap out of my air cleaner., Toyota OEM air cleaners for the 100 are $32 a pop. I put a new one in before DV and it was clogged after.
I dunno what aircleaners you guys use but the OEM ones here are washable. Bung 'em over the agitator in the washing machine and give 'em a cycle.

FWIW I reckon the best set up is a snorkel with a Donaldson™ pre-cleaner on top. We use this set up on the farm I used to work on with the tractors and the pre-cleaners removed 95% of the dirt before it got to the air cleaner itself.

You get people saying they hurt performance but these are the guys that don't have them. I could feel, seat of the pants, a performance increase when I fitted mine. I have also noticed less airfilter changes after the fitment too.

On a trip up to FNQ there was four vehicles in our convoy. About 3/4 of the way through the trip the only one without a snorkel had a completely blocked aircleaner. The rest of us checked ours too and we all were OK.

one thing that I have noticed is if you have music already saved in a WMA (windoze media player) format, you can't convert to anything useful
In iTunes go into the configuration [Edit-->Preferences-->(tab)Advanced-->(tab)Importing] and set it up to have them ripped to MP3 files. Then you can put them on nearly any player. I'm beginning a reripping of all my old CDs. One of the HDs I had my ripped CD collection on died a few years ago and I hadn't gotten started on the rerip. It's going to take a couple months at the rate I'm going.

I do that for my photography trips. Keeps me sane with all the boxes of food and equipment I have to bring.
