stopped by to check out the green house for sale up the road. Includes three greenhouses, a retail sales floor, a couple of out buildings, and some land.
It might be more practical to just put a small greenhouse to start out at mofer township. But, as katie suggested, it might be good to enter some orchid contests and get my name out there first....

Yeah. You already know the local market sucks because of the other nursery. And luxury items like fancy plants tend to not do well in the kind of economy we're gonna have for a while.

the other nursery is a general retial nursery. I'd want to specialize in orchids, and would most likely wholesale them, offer flasking services, seed repository, etc...
Indeed, I could wind up supplying the fancy retail place with the orchids they sell. And, lots of sales are done at shows. The orchid show in madison had orchid growers from minneapolis and shit that were selling there.
The important thing is to win some ribbons first. There are people out there who will spend thousands of dollars on a single plant based on rarity and lineage, but you gotta have a few ribbons before you get taken seriously.

Yeah that makes sense. Dude, start growing. Prolly how this guy started with roses. He is like the fucking rose king lately. I'm probably going to buy some this year:

so, I think the thing is to get some interesting seedlings, take a few years to develop my skills and develop the plants, then start entering contests... By five years, I hope the economy will be better, and that I'll have won some competitions, and maybe then I can scale up and into wholesale and laboratory services.

Self-loathing is quaint, you told me, showing restraint.
Now you're gone and I'm lost, in the swells I am tossed
bobbing and choking and losing the fight in the fog.
You said, "Forever...." Tell me, why can't you stay?
I'd ride in your pocket all day, but I just don't fit
Say the word and I'll change, I'm throwin' a party
tonight, I drink more than a sailor on shore
Pour the rum in my eyes, tell me lies.
Oh, oh-oh-oh, oh, oh-oh-oh
Drunk since Saturday, without you, without restraint.
It sill stings where you stung, water swings in my lungs
I'm starving for words that would ration my sadness away.
Tell me, "Forever...." Tell me you'll come back to stay.
You were the mermaid for me
'til one day you found your feet
leaving me
in this god-awful bottle, a model of heartache and grief.

Orchids are like gubs and Land Cruisers. Phael. is a good start since they're readily available, cheap, easy to take care of once they are established, and since the blooms can last like six months...
But like cruisers and gubs, the first entry level orchid gets you collecting more... soon, you have 5 or 6 phaels and you go to an orchid show, and start wanting more exotic species. So, you get a book, read up, and buy your first $100+ orchid... then you get a few more...
...but then you start wanting super exotic $500+ plants... and you want to start raising seedlings... then you want to start pollinating your plants and getting your own seeds, and flasking them...
then you want to start cross breeding to get a hybrid that you can take to a show, win awards with, and name the plant after yourself....
It's a disease.

I'm funny about this (maybe superstitious is the better term), but I'm most comfortable on the job when I have all my preferred equipment with me and everything is in its place.

Hahaha! My concern is whether there is probable cause to believe that a crime has been, is being, or is about to be committed. I really don't concern myself too greatly with what the final outcome will be of my cases. It would be too aggravating at times. My duty is to present the best possible case to a system which has undoubted flaws and hope for the best.
