SRSLY... Yooper mentioned yesterday that I should be the orchid manager... That got me to thinking. There's an old nursery not far from the house, has the green houses and everything there. The old nursery that was located there closed down last year. (It was a general nursery, the bigger and much nicer nursery in town shut it down)
The more an more I think about it, the more and more I am seriously tempted to call the realtor offering it. I'd have to build a lab (Orchids are germinated and cultivated for the first year or more in surgical sterile conditions), buy some glove-boxes, an autoclave, and some of the grow-lights the hippies use to grow pot in their basement.... but I could become an orchid distributor...
I've been pricing out greenhouses all morning long... Getting the seedlings is not expensive. The flask I ordered today was $35 for 25 plants (minimum), the thing is you have to wait 5 years before you get a plant that will flower and that is strong enough to survive outside the nursery setting, and can reasonably be sold.
I guess if you're doing a hobby as a job, you're not really wr0king?
I dunno... Prolly just another of my hare-brained schemes, but it's fun to explore some possibilities.

There is a judge school at UNR though. My good friend who is now a senior engineer at Apple was the chief of IT there for a while.

no idea whether the Holiday Inn will be much different, but they give AARP discount

That was San Rafael and Petaluma. It depicted Modesto, CA. But Modesto was too much of a shithole to actually film in.
