I'm going to maintain the Tacoma anyhow. And this way, it is an excuse to build it into a better driving and more capable rig, at a fairly marginal cost. All labor would be done by myself, over the next month's weekends. Fairly basic wrenching.
I'm not in a super hurry to flip the 80. Its costing me a little in insurance money, but otherwise its just taking up garage space.
What bothers me is not getting the use out of the tires that are on my 80 now. I have some kind of weird emotional attachment to those 33" tires, and feel like if I sell the truck with them I'll be losing my soul or something.
If I don't put the 33's on the Tacoma now, there is a good chance that I won't be able to do it for years, if ever. Taking advantage of the opportunity to get the nicer tires without having to dish out major coin is highly appealing.

Plus I would really enjoy having my Tacoma a little more 4x4 capable. And I'd really like to do some wrenching on it...
If I can pick up some Tundra rims and tires like the ones linked above...then I could get right on selling the 80 right away, and I'd have that cash to play with too...

Then again...
maybe this is all too much of a pain in the ass and I should just forget it and unload the 80 as is.

Hey,
I don't know if you have seen or heard this, but there is this British car show that did this piece on a Toyota truck.
Absolutely amazing what they did.
They abused the hell out of that truck and it just wouldn't die.
I'll pull up a link for you guys in a minute when I have a mo'.

Yes, just a 3" spacer lift. Didn't turn out too bad. He loves it, says it handles the same as before.
Don't know about fitting in a tacoma, I know the lift was for the FJC/4Runner.
