Hey Sprocket, have I seen you in a charcoal rig. The Uz100 looks like a Prado right? On Powell.

Not me! My wife drives the 100 98% and that's the wrong color as well. There are a lot of stock 100s around though

These were from a backpack trip I took my 6-year old son on last Labor Day weekend. We were in the White Chief Meadow area of the Mineral King Wilderness in central CA.
Taken with Canon PowerShot A620.

The pics are all links and look much better on my home PC.

Just ordered a 16-35 F/2.8L II USM, curious to see if any other mudders have this glass and what they think of it.

I'm excited to get mine and start using it around

Are you using this on the FF Canon body? If so, I use the EFS 10-22, which is about the same FOV on a crop body and the 16-35 would be on a FF, without the 2.8 . I like the wide angle, but don't use it as much as I thought I would. The 1.6 crop at 10mm is really wide. I end up with feet and other unintended crap in the picture if I'm not careful. I end up using the EFS 17-55 2.8 IS more. The BW photo above was taken with the 10-22 (at 22mm). I'd be curious to know how much distortion you get at 16mm. It's very noticeable at 10mm on the EFS lens. Someday I'll get some L glass. For now, I just rent it for special occasions...

and oh yeah, post up some pics already, it's been a week...

Awesome thread

I shoot with a Nikon D60, 18-55mm VR and 55-200mm VR, I can't wait to pick up my 50mm f/1.8 tomorrow

A few of mine:

Yeah yeah, its a j##p. Picture turned out well, okay?

The 18-55 has some distortion @ 18mm that I enjoy using

Lost a bit in the crop/resize, but its interesting IMO

Ok, I will play. Both were shot on with my Canon 20d, 17-85is lens this weekend. I have better equipment than skills, have been shooting for 25 years and still suck.

Just trying to get back into photography... Treated myself to a new camera (my first digital, have always used works)...

Pentax K20D.. 18-55mm? Kit lense, and a Tameron 150-275mm telephoto (I think)

From a work trip last week setting up some radio telemetry gear to track sockeyes..

Old wooden steamwheel, couple hours up the Yenta River

Barge transporting goods for folks...

Mt. Foraker (left?) and Denali (right) from the SW flank... Probably best view I've had of them in 7 years up here...

Switched lenses to the telephoto... another of Denali..
