Good luck bud and have a safe trip.

I knew you'd make it. Those pics are phenomenal! I need to get my ass out there and see that part of the country. Great job making that haul for a Cruiser. My .02 is to ask TT magazine if they could use an article about that. I think you have a good potential story there and obviously some awesome pics to back it.
Glad y'all made it safe.

That would have made a great article. Unfortunately, I don't think TT will print it once the pics have made the net on a forum. Don't post any more pics of it, and maybe they will still run it.

glad y'all made it back fine...caroline called me sunday after she woke up and said the rest of the trip was pretty uneventful
great seein you man, and for everybody else wonderin...it was pretty much "the" perfect cruiser for a cross country trip, in my opinion, ha ha. smelled great, had a few miles on it, and had some stuff wrong with it but nothin that a quality cruiserhead couldn't handle (at least you didn't need a brake cable off my bike this time...)
waitin on the TT article...

I flew from Birmingham to Houston and drove back an FJ60 to Cullman non-stop. Made it home fine expect for one small issue near Vicksburg, MS ( I decided to take the norhtern route).... I found that the truck stalled in the rain...new plug wires and dist cap solved that. Was last summer and the A/C worked all the way home, then I lost the belt and tensioner pulley in the city limits (I never fixed that) best I can tell its kind of a useless item(anyone know different)..
I went out there for the hell of it.... Saw more troopers in Texas north of Houston than I recall seeing at any time, must have been 20 or more before I crossed over into LA.
Not the most comfortable ride, given the 20+ year old stock suspension.
Everyone thought I was crazy.... I decided what the hell. Had a deal with a friend to come get me with his car trailer if I got stranded.
Only had two problems..... brief delay near Vicksburg for rain, and lost the A/C belt once I made it home. Pretty amazing for a vehicle that old.

That was one of the better articles in recent TTs. Not the usual cliched storyline, thankfully, and nicely written. Feel free to write more.
